About Voyage Scribe

Hi there! I’m Natalie, the founder of Voyage Scribe. I started this blog to create a community for writers who travel.

A little bit about me: After completing my Master’s I decided the office life or further academia wasn’t for me at that moment.

I didn’t want to be stuck in one place for too long, I didn’t want to get drained by boring entry level jobs and, most importantly, I wanted freedom.

I wanted freedom to go wherever I wanted, freedom to follow my passions and freedom to write (because my unfinished book was in serious need of attention) whenever I wanted.

This blog was created to offer me that freedom.

I wanted to go out and explore the world, live fully and go on adventures that would keep me writing with passion.

You see, travel has always given me a fresh perspective and inspiration that activated an urge to write.

If you’re the same, then you’re in the right place!

So anyway, I decided to set off into the world with a backpack, laptop and lots of notebooks and pens to travel the world and finish writing my book, all while I blog about traveling as a writer.

[I’m not traveling at the moment due to COVID, but Voyage Scribe is still going strong as I catch up with writing about the places I visited so far and writing about things like how to get writing inspiration when you can’t travel and how to create your own writing retreat during COVID.]

But my journey is not all you’ll find on Voyage Scribe.

I create resources for the traveling writers, like monthly travel-inspired writing prompts and travel guides designed specifically for writers, the Writer’s Travel Guide series.

This is also intended as a platform for writers to share their travel-inspired writing, and you will find opportunities to publish your work here (there’s a bi-annual writing contest based on my writing prompts; check out the Spring 2021 Writing Contest!) and read about the world from varying perspectives.
