A bit of self promo, but I truly think any traveling writer would love this because, well, it was created by a traveling writer! I created this journal after getting frustrated with not being able to keep all my writing ideas organized. This travel journal lets you both journal about your trip and keep your story ideas, character/setting name ideas and random thoughts organized.
While I love keeping a handwritten journal on my travels, it’s always at risk of being damaged by water, whether from rain, a day at the beach or falling onto the wet floor of a boat (happened to me twice). These waterproof bags will protect your writer friend’s travel journal!

Writers should be reading a lot, since it’s the best way to become a better writer. The following two subscriptions make that easy when on the go.
I love listening to audiobooks while traveling because I can do it while walking, when it’s dark and without needing to add any extra weight in my luggage.
If your writer doesn’t like audiobooks, then give them the gift of unlimited ebooks! I can usually sacrifice space for one physical book when traveling, so it’s nice to have an unlimited supply of ebooks.
